quick restore, but as I started disassembling it I realized it would
required much more. So the long process of restoring began.
I spend years going to swap meets and car shows buying parts.
Many things are available from various catalogs,
so I got to be a regular customer with a couple of places.
The body was not real bad, but it was in need of a lower front section.
I was able to find one at a swap meet in Detroit and fiberglassed
it into place. It was 1985.
By fall 1986 I had rebuilt the engine and transmission and was ready to
drop it in. Two years later it was in primer and the dash
and gages were in place. The engine compartment
was completed in the fall of 1990. It wasn't until the summer of 92 that
the silver blue paint was applied. I spent the next two years
putting it back together. The spring of 1994 it was ready
for its first show. It was well worth the wait, taking first place.
I've been to about 40 shows since and have a house full of trophies
and awards. It has been certified "Top Flight" by the
National Corvette Restores Society. This car was featured in
Vette Vues Magazine in the Feb 1995 issue.
The engine is a 283 CID 250 HP factory fuel injection with a
Borg-Warner T10 transmission and 4:11 posi rear end.
